Horses Notebooking Pages for 2nd to 8th Grades

Horses continue to be a popular farm animal, despite the fact that on most farms, they are more of a “pet” than a working farm animal. Your students can use these pony and horses notebooking pages to write about these fascinating and beautiful equines.

Horses Notebooking Pages

With these Horses notebooking pages, your kids can write about the Equus caballus, a one toed, hoofed mammal, historically used for their strength. Horses don’t like to be alone and are generally kept with at least one other horse or donkey.

Learn about their scientific name, write about their diet, define the difference between a horse and a pony, and write interesting facts about the history of horses.

For example, in Mongolia, horses are used for their strength to move things and for transportation, but did you know that they are also used as a source of milk for the Mongolian people?

There are over 450 breeds of horses and ponies; choose a few to learn about.

Or they can write facts about the life cycle of a horse and the different names for males, females, and their young.

Topics included in these horses notebooking pages printables:

  • Domestic Horses (in both bl/w and full color)
  • Horse Breeds
  • Differences between a Horse and a Pony
  • Warm-blood, Hot-blood, or Cold-blood?
  • Horses in Mongolia (Horse milk)
  • Mare, Stallion, Foal, Colt, Gelding, or Filly?
  • Life Cycle of Horses
  • Horse Colors and Markings
  • Horses throughout History
  • Horse Diet and Care
