Quanah Parker was the son of a white woman, Cynthia Ann Parker (who was a captive of the Nokoni Tribe) and the Comanche Chief Peta Nocona. His mother was abducted during the Fort Parker massacre in 1836, when she was only 9 years old and then she was kidnapped back by soldiers when Quanah was only a child.

These notebooking pages are generally for students working at the 2nd to 8th grade levels.

Quanah Parker was a key figure in first fighting against the invasion into Comanche territory, and then in helping his people adjust to life on the reservation.

He straddled both the Native American world and the Western world.
