Axolotl Homeschool Resources with Notebooking Pages
Your elementary and middle school students can use these free Axolotl notebooking pages and anatomy worksheets when they are studying this neotenic salamander from Mexico.

Let your students use these three differentiated levels of the Axolotl Homeschool Notebooking Printables as a part of their science and biology study while they write, draw, and color what they’ve learned about these aquatic salamanders that are sometimes called Mexican Walking Fish or Mexican Water Monsters.
Remember the old toy store jingle, “I don’t want to grow up, I’m a ToysRUs kid!”? Well, that is the axolotl’s life motto. They stay in their juvenile metamorphic state instead of changing into their adult state.
Or maybe axolotl’s are just channeling their inner Peter Pan’s Lost Boys?
At any rate, axolotls are neotenic salamanders that only occur naturally in Lake Xochimilco in Mexico and unlike other salamanders, spend their lives in water.
Axolotl Notebooking Pages
With these Axolotl homeschool notebooking pages, your kids can write about the increasingly popular pet (thanks to Minecraft) that has been hybridized with its cousin the tiger salamander, or the critically endangered axolotl that is only found in one place in Mexico in the wild.
Or they can write facts about the life cycle of an axolotl and how they stay in the larval stage of metamorphosis or how they are able to regenerate limbs and other body parts when one is lost. Or they could even learn about the Aztec mythology of the axolotl.
These free notebooking printables would even work for copying poems or quotes about aquatic animals for handwriting practice.
