Veteran’s Day Educational Resources
Veteran’s Day is a day of remembrance for those who have served. It is observed in the United States on November 11 of each year.
Use these resources and library list to teach your student about the history of the Veteran’s Day holiday to help them understand the sacrifices made by our veterans and their family members that have served.
The history of the Veteran’s Day holiday began as a day set aside to remember (and honor) with thankfulness and pride those who made the sacrifice to serve their country. It is observed on the Eleventh hour of the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh Month on honor of the Armistice (truce) of World War 1. In some countries, it is called Armsitice Day or Remembrance Day.
