These Sir Drake Notebooking pages are perfect for many different types of writing assignments in various subjects.

Sir Francis Drake was the first English captain to completely circumnavigate the entire world in a single expedition (from 1577 to 1580) and return with his ship and crew. He was the second person to lead a ship around the world. Magellan (1522) is considered to be the very first explorer who circumnavigated the world, although he did not return with his ship.

Sir Drake also helped Queen Elizabeth I defeat the Spanish Armada (and subsequently was labeled a pirate by the Spanish).

These notebooking pages are generally for students working at the 2nd to 8th grade levels.

Students can research and write about Sir Francis Drake’s humble beginnings and life to see how he helped the British Empire become the greatest power on Earth at the time.

Your students could also write about his many adventures around the world.

These Explorer notebooking pages are included in our Mr. Popper’s Penguins Unit Study bundle in the HHO shop.
