Why Use a “Personal” Spelling Dictionary?
I like to have my children write down words they encounter while reading that they don’t know in their personal spelling dictionary.
Later, they can look up the words to learn the definition. This is less distracting to their reading than stopping in the middle of a paragraph to look up a word.
There are pages for all of the letters of the alphabet. There are 2 styles or levels; one has primary lines for younger students, and the other has regular lines, but also has common words are already written in the book.
Your student can fill in other words on the blank lines that they want to learn or are having trouble remembering how to spell.
