Celebrate Dr. Seuss Day on March 2 of every year to honor the late Theodor Seuss Geisel on his birthday.
Mr. Geisel wrote many classic and iconic children’s books under the pen name, Dr Seuss. He incorporated many character traits, environmental concerns and even political ideas of his day into the themes and storylines of his books.
For example, Dr. Seuss wrote The Lorax as a way of expressing his concerns about the environment. And How the Grinch Stole Christmas was a political statement about the commercialization of the Christmas season.
Many of his children’s books contain words of wisdom that we can all learn from. I’ve selected a few Dr. Seuss quotes for your students to work on their grammar and handwriting with these copywork pages.
