About Homeschool Helper Online

Hi! I’m Jenn and my family and I live on a small hobby farm right outside of a large college town.

My family has been homeschooling for over 20 years (since our oldest was in kindergarten in 2001). My husband and I have six children, three that share our genes and three that share our hearts.

There are twenty years between the oldest and the youngest, so I’ll have homeschooled for 33 years when the youngest graduates high school. All six of my children have had unique learning needs.

Before we brought home our three youngest kids from foster care, I also worked a few hours a month as a licensed speech-language pathologist, mostly with pediatric clients. With my master’s degree in Communication Disorders, I was able to work in both public schools and private preschools. I’ve maintained my training and my license, but now I use it to help other homeschooling moms navigate the world of special needs homeschooling, as well as homeschooling my own children.

about us

As a family, we prioritize activities that include the whole family, such as 4-H, homeschool co-op, and family traditions (such as Sunday night dinners) over many different individual activities in order to create a strong family environment.

My husband and I believe in giving back to our homeschool community and served on our local homeschool co-op board of directors for over seven years and served as President for two of those years. We’ve both volunteered for our club and county 4-H for many years as well.

I’m also the creator of Whole Child Homeschool, a resource for homeschool mom advice, family-style schooling, and adaptable lessons for all ages and abilities.

I’d love for you to join us on our homeschooling journey!

Here’s where you can find me and more homeschool mom life advice and homeschooling resources.

Homeschool Helper Online can help you!  We have a variety of free unit studies, lapbooks, worksheets, notebooking pages, copywork (handwriting), and more to enrich and extend the subjects you are already teaching.
