Butterflies Lapbook

Butterflies Lapbook

This free butterfly lapbook can be easily be modified to fit students PreK-1st grade. With a small amount of searching on the websites that I have used for my activities, you could easily make it work for up to 3rd graders including some math activities.

Library List:
From Caterpillar to Butterfly by Deborah Heiligman & Bari Weissman
Where Butterflies Grow by Joanne Ryder & Lynne Cherry
Caterpillars and Butterflies by Emma Fischel (Usborne)

Lapbook Activities:

The student can color and decorate butterfly pattern using markers, crayons, glitter, etc. This butterfly can be used to decorate the front of the lapbook.

Student can color, cut, glue, and write in  “My First Letter C Book” (C is for…Caterpillar) AND “My First Letter B Book” (B is for…Butterfly)

Use the butterfly life cycle “label me” to learn about the life cycle. Then, the student can color and cut-out butterfly life cycle sequencing cards. These cards can be mixed up and then have the student put them in the correct order. Make a pocket for the lapbook to hold the cards.

Learn about and label parts of the butterfly worksheet. It can also be colored.

Make a coloring book that will fit in the lapbook.
