How Does Your Garden Grow?

The plants in our garden have really started to grow now that the weather is warming up.  We have eaten radishes, spinach and asparagas from the garden.  The peas and potatoes are shooting right up and so is the broccoli.  Last night, we planted 4 types of tomatoes, 4 types of peppers, green beans, a couple rows of corn and some garbonzo beans.

We are trying pimento peppers and garbonzo beans for the first time this year.  I really like eating garbonzo beans in salads, so I hope they do well.  We also like putting pimentos in salads, but those little jars are so expensive so I thought we’d try to grow them also.  We grow anaheim peppers and use those in recipes that call for cans of green chili peppers.  We also planted orange bell peppers and red bell peppers.

The green beans that we planted are an heirloom, pole bean variety.  They are so much easier to pick than a bush bean.  They are also really good!  And because they are an heirloom, we can let some of the beans drop right on the vine and have seeds for next year.
