Here’s a yummy, homemade cake to make when you have a little bit of sour milk that needs to be used.

Chocolate Sheet Cake

In a saucepan, melt 1 cup butter.  Add 4 Tablespoons cocoa powder and 1 cup water.  Bring to a boil.  Mix in 2 cups flour, 2 cups sugar, 1 1/3 teaspoon baking soda.  Add 1/2 cup sour milk and 2 eggs.  Mix thoroughly.  Pour into a 18×20″ pan.  Bake 20 minutes at 350.

Frosting:

While the cake is baking, melt 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan.  Add 6 Tablespoons sour milk and 4 Tablespoons cocoa.  Bring to a boil.  Remove from heat and add 4 cups powdered sugar, 1 cup chopped nuts and 1 teaspoon vanilla.  Spread on while cake and frosting are warm.

Slice of chocolate sheet cakemmm good!!

This is one of our favorite cakes. It’s addictive. Especially in the summer with homemade ice cream. Or just plain. But I’m the only one who likes nuts in the frosting, so I usually leave them out.
