Homemade Valentine Sweets for your Sweeties

My daughter is allergic to peanuts, so most store bought chocolates are not ok for her to eat.  At Christmas I made her some homemade milky ways and she said, “I don’t know why you don’t make these all the time for me!”  I wish I had the time!  But, I decided to try making her some krackel bars for Valentine’s Day.  I got some Hershey’s chocolate bars and melted them in the top of a double boiler.  Once they were melted, I just mixed in some Rice Krispies cereal.  I poured it into a pan that I had lined with wax paper.  Once they were set, I cut them and wrapped them in aluminum foil.

Wrapping the Chocolates

Then, I went to my sister’s house.  She has LOTS of stamps that we used to make wrappers for our chocolates with.  We just cut strips of paper a little narrower than the chocolates, decorated them and wrapped them around the chocolates.  We used tape to secure them on the backside.
