Cheap Date Night
My husband and I enjoy going out together without kids occasionally. However, in the past, we hardly ever went out because it was too hard to find a babysitter. The cost of babysitting was also a big problem for us. We didn’t feel like we could spend much on our evening because of the cost of babysitting. A year or so ago, we started trading “date nights” with another family. We take turns having each other’s kids over, feeding them supper and letting them play for a while in the evening. The kids have a great time together. They are always asking when our next “date night” will be. Us parents love this little bit of time alone. A couple of hours alone together every month or so doesn’t seem like it would be a big deal, but it is really enjoyable. I also believe it is a good way to strengthen the marriage.
